10 Craft Ideas To Do With Sonic Coloring Pages
Here are 10 creative, fun, and cheap craft activities that you can do with the above coloring pages!
1. Fun With Gems and Power Rings
Have the youngsters color their favorite Sonic the Hedgehog coloring page, and glue the page in its entirety to a stiff piece of cardboard.
Jewel-colored craft pom-poms can be glued to the page as the gems, and the same can be done with tiny craft rings to create the illusion of the power rings.
Make sure to use two of the rings at the top two corners of the page so that string can be added and the page hung as wall art.
2. Create an Enduring Game
Sonic is often seen holding up his hand to make a point. This kind of page is perfect for this craft.
When Sonic is colored, he should be glued to a piece of thin corkboard, making sure to cut it out around the finger he has raised.
The figure can then be glued to a thick piece of corkboard so that he can stand on his own.
Youngsters can then play a fun game throwing craft rings at Sonic to see if he’ll “catch” their ring.
3. Design a Birthstone Poster
Sonic’s gems are a popular part of his theme, and this craft is a fun way to use a Sonic coloring page.
From a big piece of poster board, have each youngster make a gem-shaped cutout.
It can be diamond-shaped or emerald-shaped, or any design the child wants to match his or her birthstone.
Once it’s colored the appropriate shade, Sonic can be glued to the center and the page attached to a calendar page featuring the month in which the child was born!
4. Make a Sonic Clock
For this fun craft, Sonic should be colored and cut out, but the arms should be separated from the rest of the cutout.
Youngsters can draw a clock on a piece of poster board and then glue Sonic to the center, attaching his arms with paper fasteners as the “hands” of the clock.
Pom-poms make great “gems” and can be glued on numbers 12, 3, 6, and 9, and puffy gold paint is perfect to create a “power ring” border.
5. Create a Power Ring for Sonic
This easy craft starts with cutting out three circles and stacking them one on top of the other, with layers of cotton batting in between.
Once the coloring page is finished, Sonic should be cut out and pushed through the circles, as if he is bursting out of the power ring.
Punch a small hole at the top for a piece of string or embroidery thread, this fun ornament can be hung in a doorway, locker, or window frame.
6. Initial Art
All youngsters love writing their names or initials, so use those finished Sonic coloring pages to make a great door sign for a child’s bedroom.
Begin by tracing and cutting out the first letter of his or her name. Paste the letter to a thin corkboard for longevity.
Carefully cut the shape of the letter from the coloring page, using an additional page for the back, if desired, and seal it with acrylic spray.
Non-damaging wall putty or a craft suction cup can be used to hang it on the child’s door.
7. Eyes Only Mask
Sonic coloring sheets are great items from which to make masks, but an eyes-only mask is an especially good choice.
When Sonic is colored and cut from the page, holes should be made for the eyes, and then the paper should be trimmed to the dimensions of a masquerade mask.
A craft stick can be glued to the side so that the youngsters can hold their masks up whenever they choose. Don’t forget to decorate them with felt, glitter, pom-poms, or other craft items!
8. Sonic and Tails in a Maze
If your child enjoys mazes, have him or her create a simple maze with a black marker against a white background.
Next, let the child color and cut out Sonic and his pal, Tails. Glue Sonic and Tails to the starting and ending points of the maze.
Have the youngster see if he or she can remember how the maze was set up and reunite Sonic with his friend.
9. Sonic Corner Bookmark
All kids like making corner bookmarks because they’re so easy to complete. Sonic is a perfect choice for this craft since those hedgehog ears are ideal for the corner section.
Youngsters can use the cutout from the Sonic coloring page by itself or laminate it to a piece of construction paper to make it extra sturdy.
Either way, the finished bookmarks should be sealed with clear packing tape, and they’ll last a surprisingly long time!
10. Make a Power Ring Come to Life
Start with a large craft ring, and tie on 5-7 pieces of bright-colored yarn, approximately 10 inches long.
Have the youngsters color and cut out Sonic characters from the coloring pages, laminate them, and punch holes in the tops to attach them to the yarn.
Next, use embroidery thread to add beads in “gem” colors and attach these to the hoop.
Hang up the hoop with string. The beads’ weight makes the characters look as if they are spinning in a power ring.
